Woodlark's Story
Woodlark has consistently been a champion horse winning classes both internal and external to the breed. Woodlarks overall rosette total must reach into the hundreds. This despite having taught generations of children to ride, she handled the difference in the calibre of her riders with true talent. Always exhibiting her best, when ridden by more advanced riders. She was a beautiful mare though only 13.11/2 h.h., she could hold her own against horses and ponies alike.
Woody died at the age of 34 and was still being ridden two weeks before she died. She has competed in cross country, show jumping, WHP, ridden classes, pairs jumping, gymkhana and Handy Pony. She has performed in musical rides as lead horse at many venues including the Denbigh and Flint County Show and the 1982 Breed Show at Chatsworth for the World Haflinger Federation. Woodlark was part of the Ruthin and District Branch of the Pony Club and attended Pony Club camp. Whilst there, being the only horse that would come to call.
Woody was universally loved by all who met her, she inspired children and even had her own fan club at the Breed show, people who only knew her at the show followed her round the classes and supported her. She was a bright elegant little horse who inspired devotion.
